Article Writing For Adults
Article Writing For AdultsIt is easier to find article resources for adults these days than it used to be. A lot of resource sites now include a variety of different articles geared specifically for adult learners. You can also find a great deal of articles that are available online, so you need to be prepared if you want to find the most useful articles. The first thing you need to know is that there are many different types of adult learners. First of all, there are the people who don't speak English as their first language. They may only understand words that come out of their mouths or they may only have a short vocabulary. In addition, there are also other people who have grown up in countries where English is the primary language and they use English for just about everything. Then there are the people who use English not only to communicate but also to write things down. These individuals may not have the benefit of learning English in school, so they rely on traditional textboo ks to help them learn their subjects. Finally, there are the people who may not be able to speak English at all, so they are still capable of understanding a great deal of the information you provide them with.An article intended for an English learner who can only understand English will need to offer many different types of language. Articles meant for these people should offer detailed explanations of different concepts, rather than a bunch of words thrown together. The purpose of an article like this is to help the reader become familiar with the basics and then move on to more complex topics. So it is very important that the article provide ample examples that demonstrate the concepts clearly.Articles for people who cannot speak English at all should also use a variety of language. Instead of just explaining words in isolation, you should also show how the concepts relate to other words and sentences. Again, this will help the reader to get comfortable with the language, and it will also enable them to see how it relates to similar ideas in English. In addition to using the appropriate language in the article, you should also be prepared to write in a way that conveys the main points of the article. In addition to the main ideas, you should also give more information in the details. This will enable the reader to retain all of the information. For example, you might want to provide a description of how a person learns to say a word, such as how a child learns to pronounce the word 'person' in English, but to also show how the pronunciation change makes sense to that individual. As you work on the entire article, you should also be willing to make mistakes. If you make mistakes, it doesn't necessarily mean that the article is not good, but it might mean that it needs to be revised. Your readers want you to be honest and you should do whatever you can to provide the best information possible.Tutoring adults requires you to have patience. While you don't want to appear pushy or arrogant, you also shouldn't be overly generous with your instructions. Give clear and understandable instructions and see that the person doing the reading knows what you are trying to teach them.

Food Groups Carbohydrates
Food Groups Carbohydrates What are Carbohydrates? ChaptersCarbohydrates in FoodThe Risks of a Low Carb DietHealthy Carbohydrate recipe ideasâThe brain's preferred source of fuel is glucose/carbohydrates. And when you go on a low-carb/high-protein diet, your brain is using low-octane fuel. You'll be a little groggy, a little grumpy.â Jack LalanneWhen we think of carbohydrates, we think of pasta, bread, rice and potatoes; stodgy, heart-warming meals such as lasagne, pie and mash, or pizza. However, on a basic level carbohydrates are simply sugar and starch. We crave carbs, cut out carbs, eat carbs before exercising and even steal carbs from other peopleâs plates.Modern diets warn us against eating too many carbohydrates and even advise cutting them out altogether. We are all familiar with the diets, especially featured in womenâs magazines that promote low carb intake to slim down for that summer body but they never tell us the long-term effects of fad dieting. The focus on carbohydrates and losing weight should be forgotten; the body needs a variety of nutrients to function at its best. Avoiding one of the main nutrients the body needs is not a good idea when it comes to our general health. So, what actually are carbohydrates and why do we have such a love-hate relationship with them?Chemically speaking, a carbohydrate is a biomolecule and consists of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. It comes in two main forms: simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates are mainly sugars such as glucose, fructose, sucrose, and lactose, whereas complex carbohydrates are starch-based, which means they have sugar molecules strung together.Finding nutritionist courses is possible on Superprof.Pasta is typical starchy carbohydrate. (Source: Eaters Collective on Unsplash)Ca rbohydrates have four main functions in the body:To provide the body with energy; To store energy in the body;To build what are called macromolecules (part of cell function);Make sure protein and fat are spared for other important uses.In knowing this, it is now strange to think that cutting carbohydrates will make our bodies healthier.Find about the five food groups.pick the right ones.So what carbohydrates should we be eating? As mentioned earlier, there are two main variations of carbohydrate: Unrefined (complex) and refined (simple). After eating complex or unrefined carbs, energy is released slowly, which means we are less likely to snack or crash throughout the day. Whereas we eat simple or refined carbohydrates, generally high processed food, we are much more likely to feel hungry quicker and be prone to cravings and binging. These highly processed foods have less vitamin and mineral content, especially fibre and B vitamins, and include foods such as white bread, pasta, rice and breakfast cereals as well as various snacks, sweets and carbonated drinks. These are the types of food that should be eaten sparingly. If these foods are consumed regularly or as the basis of our diets, our bodies can start experiencing problems such as digestive issues and weight gain, which in turn can lead to obesity and heart disease.Eating too many refined carbs can also play havoc with our teeth and hormones leading to acne and other skin conditions. If in doubt, simply stay away from beige foods. Generally, the more colourful your plate, the more nutrients it contains.Complex or unrefined carbohydrates are found in more natural, fresh foods including whole grains, beans and pulses, fruits, and vegetables. These sources of carbohydrates are much healthier for us so it is important to consider opting for wholegrain pasta, rice and bread and plenty of fruit and vegetables when shopping. This is not to say we canât enjoy our favourite pasta or pizza at the best Italian restaurant in town or enjoy a visit to the local chippy every now and then. It about having the right knowledge and making better decisions day to day.Learn proper dieting with a nutritionist near me.Although not a healthy carb choice, it's okay to have chips every now and then. (Source: Gilly on Unsplash)The Risks of a Low Carb DietTo put it simply, carbohydrates are the bodyâs number one source of energy, without them, our bodies have less energy and rely on protein and fat, diminishing the important role these food groups play.Reducing our intake of refined carbohydrates is necessary to maintain optimal health but on the other side, cutting out carbs altogether can have a very negative impact on our bodies in the short term and even more so in the long term.If the body does not have enough sugar, it starts to break down our stored fat. This might sound like a good thing if we are trying to lose weight but this also causes, what are known as ketones to build up in our bodies. Ketones ar e produced by the liver during times of low food intake. This is a way of the body protecting itself or what is often referred to as âsurvival modeâ. The body is an amazing instrument! In the short term, ketosis, which is a normal metabolic process, becomes dangerous when there is a build of ketones, causing many negative side effects such as headaches, nausea, tiredness and even bad breath.Cut out carbs for a long period and replace them with high protein foods such as meat and dairy is a potential danger zone. These seemingly âhealthyâ alternatives to carbs mean the bodyâs consumption of saturated fat is much higher, which in turn, increases the amount of cholesterol in the blood. High cholesterol is the number one cause of heart disease and stroke. Not something to take lightly.Yet the long-term effects often seem so far from our minds, we tend to ignore the advice when it comes to nutrition, especially when we are pressured to look a certain way. Carbohydrates, like fat , are not the enemy and the more we understand this food group, the healthier we will be.Healthy Carbohydrate recipe ideasThere are plenty of recipes out there to help us create the perfect balance of carbohydrates for every meal. It is not always convenient or affordable for everyone to make big changes to their weekly shop but we can make small changes that will go a long way.For example, consider baking your own pizza dough with wholegrain flour or energising that salad with lentils or beans. Or, why not opt for sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes and create colourful, varied meals using it as the base: chop them into fries, oven bake them and add spices for a delicious side dish one day, or bake them whole with your favourite topping the next. There are so many ways to cook starchy vegetables.Be inspired by authentic Indian cuisine and add wholegrain rice and quinoa to a Biryani dish. Use whole grain pasta in that famous veggie Spag Bowl the whole family loves. Be darin g and fish out that blender hidden in the back of the cupboard to make the perfect red pepper and lentil soup with fresh wholegrain bread for those cold winter days.Get a nutritionist near me here.Team that homemade soup with some crusty, wholegrain bread. (Source: Wesual Click on Unsplash)Carbohydrates are such a staple in our diets that it is liberating to understand which ones benefit us most and break the low carb habit and, instead, add complex carbs/good carbs to our everyday diet.If we focus on the types of foods that give us the most joy and go online to research inspired recipes and ideas, we soon realise that unhealthy cooking does not always need to be at the heart of our daily lives.Carbohydrates do not have to be the food we feel guilty about eating or binge on after avoiding them for weeks. We can integrate them into our everyday diets and feel healthy and full of energy because they are naturally high fibre foods that maintain our blood sugar levels.Healthy living d oes not mean we have to be boring and bland in the kitchen. Cooking and eating should be a joy, and research suggests that if we enjoy our food, our overall digestion also improves. So finding that balance between taste and health is crucial. Healthy, unrefined carbs can just be the base, you can decide on the flavour.Read more about proteins.Read more about fats.Read more about fruit and vegetables.Read more about dairy.
When Should You Practice Playing the Piano
When Should You Practice Playing the Piano How can you get ready for learning to play the piano? ChaptersAsk your piano tutor The importance of willpower Scheduling: Is it Really a Problem? How much should I practice playing the piano? Regularity First and ForemostIf you want to learn how to play piano, you have to practice, train, and work on it regularly.Whether you have a piano teacher or piano lessons or not, this means you have to schedule when and how you should be learning how to play the piano. The issue of âwhenâ you should practice often comes up, especially from those trying to find the time to learn piano. Hereâs some information that may answer this piano playing issue.Between 80 and 90% of learning piano happens when a piano player is sitting in front of the keyboard, playing piano alone, reading sheet music, doing exercises, and working on their scales. Learning the piano requires a lot of independent learning from the student. The tutor canât always be sitting behind the student and guiding them.Of course, their teacher will still play a fundamental rol e in providing the student with everything they need to learn to play piano effectively and give them a better understanding of music theory with every piano lesson.Firstly, a good tutor doesnât just give quality piano tutorials, They need to be somebody who can take the studentâs personality into consideration and decide on the best use of their time as they learn how to play piano. You might also find these top tips for learning the piano helpful...Your piano tutor can help you with anything related to pianos. (Source: The Odyssey Online)They then need to provide the student with the necessary skills and materials to work with (piano music is very useful), allowing them to use their own free time learning how to read sheet music and notation and learning how to play the piano songs they love. In fact a piano tutor is there to teach the musician how to learn about music. If you want to know when you should be learning to play piano, you should definitely ask your piano tutor. The y'll tell you how and when you should be working on your playing. Theyâre the best person to give you recommendations and advice. To ensure they give you the best advice, make sure you tell them exactly how you like to work, what your normal routines are, and what youâre struggling with, etc.By listening to their feedback, you're basically learning how to teach yourself in your free time and giving yourself free piano lessons when they're not there.Itâs also important to know that some tutors are very strict when it comes to independent practice (my piano tutor always was), sometimes planning their training down to the minute! Others are happy to give their students a list of general rules and exercises to complete between classes. When beginning piano lessons, you should find the piano tutor that works best with your learning style and how you play. You may also be interested in learning how to write music for the piano... The importance of willpowerIf youâre asking yourself âwhen should I practice?â, you mightnât have a good piano tutor since a good tutor would have already told you where, when, and how to practice the piano during your piano course. They should almost always be the person you ask. However, you could always ask your music teacher at school, too.Don't blame your tutor straight away. Itâs also possible that the problem lies elsewhere: maybe you canât practice without someone behind you telling you to do it or you arenât motivated enough to practice independently. Learning music isn't easy, after all! Most young piano students give up playing because they lack the perseverance or donât have the necessary discipline or skills to be effective independent learners. This is where willpower comes into it. To effectively learn to play the piano, you first need to be learning how to motivate yourself to learn new skills and then keep working on them. This is especially true when it comes to piano scales, fingering, learning how to re ad music, or more advanced techniques like sight reading or seamlessly coordinating both hands.Since the piano or keyboard is probably going to be the most difficult musical instrument you learn, your piano tutor will have to play an important role in keeping you motivated. A teacher will motivate and encourage their students to work hard and be passionate about the instrument theyâre learning.Discover how you can improve your dexterity while playing the piano! If a lot of people are asking when they should be practicing the piano, maybe itâs because people donât tend to have a lot of time to begin with. Whether youâre at middle school, high school, or even college, your days are probably busy enough as it is.Make sure your piano playing remains organized. (Source: Wallpapers Wide)How can you find the time to practice playing the piano? People usually give up playing the piano because of this very reason: they simply just donât have the time to actually learn to play the i nstrument or never sit down in front of the keys.Finding the time to play the piano is a real issue. Some people are too busy to play the piano and may have to give up other things just to make any progress. At the same time, not having the time to practice is one of the oldest excuses in the book when it comes to students who just canât be bothered. If you really love playing the piano and want to get better and become a real pianist, youâll always find the time to practice. You can play piano at home, after all. An enthusiastic player will look for online piano lessons and spend hours practicing solely with their left hand, reading music, or memorizing a new chord.Ask yourself whether or not you donât have enough time to practice or if youâre just making excuses?Studies suggest that the average American watches over 5 hours of TV per day! If we can find the time to watch this much television, surely we can give up one hour of binge-watching Game of Thrones and focus on o ur piano learning, instead!Find piano lessons London. How much should I practice playing the piano? It doesn't matter whether you're learning classical piano or jazz piano, if youâre really passionate about learning to play the piano and practicing, youâll find the time you need to do so.Though this doesnât answer the question. The main question is how much time do you need to spend practicing playing the piano?Youâll never get any further ahead if you only play the piano during your classes at school or in your lessons with your private tutor. Youâll never get any better if you only practice one hour per week.Thereâs no one-size-fits-all answer to the question; it depends on the person. Some students can make a lot of progress just by working two hours a week while others may need to practice at least four hours a week to get any better. Itâs important to know that the number of hours isnât the only thing you need to consider. Regularity is the key to success when it comes to playing the piano.Find out how you can simplify piano music for easy playing... Regularity First and ForemostItâs better to spend 30 minutes every day practicing than practicing for a full three hours every now and then. Regularity is the key word. Work little and often.Youâll learn self-discipline and start to enjoy learning to play the piano. Working regularly allows you to create a learning routine. Preparing for your lessons is essential!Don't ever let your piano gather dust! (Source: HR - Rick Harris)Donât let your piano gather a single speck of dust!Your practice sessions should at least last 30 minutes. Itâs difficult to make any progress by working for less than half an hour with at least 10 minutes of warming up.Is it possible to work only at the weekend? Some students simply donât have the time to practice any time other than the weekend. Juggling your professional life, family life, your partner, and your pets, might leave you with no spare time during the week. Some students wonder whether theyâll make any progress if they only work at the weekend.Again, thereâs not a single answer to this question. This routine can work for some students. For others, itâs not so easy. It completely depends on the person and their own motivation. Some people can learn the piano teaching themselves and end up being able to sing and play at the same time. The main problem with only practicing at the weekend is that you may end up being demotivated by the lack of routine. Ideally, you should play the piano at least once every three days. This means that at some point youâll have to practice during the week.If you only play at the weekend but want to get better, youâll have to practice at least two hours every weekend. The best solution is to put aside at least one day during the week where you can sit down and practice. The âwhenâ and the âhowâThis articles mainly deals with the âwhenâ. However, thereâs also the issue of âho wâ. To put it another way, itâs the quality of practice that counts, not the quantity. Some spend one or two hours a day in front of their piano without making any progress.Overworking is sometimes the worst way to work. On the other hand, those who really work, even if just for two hours a week, can make tons of progress. By working hard, you can make a lot of progress by working less. While this article isnât really about âhowâ you should work, here are a few tips to consider:Enjoy practicing. If you donât enjoy it, youâll struggle to progress.Donât work just your hands. Work your brain. Try to simplify piano pieces. In order to make progress, your brain needs to be active while youâre learning. Concentration and memory, which are essential when it comes to learning, are mental faculties.Establish a weekly work schedule complete with learning objectives: figure out a piano piece, work on a particular piece or exercise.Did you also want to sing while you play piano ?

The first two, visual arts and performing arts, include everything from interior architecture to playwriting. The third, literature, tends to be less present in most arts schools â" which is why we will be focusing on the first two. While there is a lot of interdisciplinary work that occurs between these three branches, it can be helpful to understand the characteristics that makes generalizations between them possible.Fine ArtsThe traditional definition of fine art is both an activity that requires a fine skill, as well as one that concerns itself with the creation of âbeautiful objects.â What is typical of many definitions of fine arts is that very rarely do they mention any specific subjects â" and that is because the fine arts actually co ver a large swath of subjects. While fine arts normally calls up images of lecture-based art theory courses or classes in ceramics â" it can also include everything from music to painting.Getting a master or bachelor degree of fine arts means that you will have access to a diverse array of art programs. Should I Retake the MCAT
Should I Retake the MCAT Youve devoted monthsand perhaps even quite a bit of moneyto preparing for the Medical College Admission Test, and now that youve received your score, all you can wonder is, Should I retake the MCAT? Ultimately, everyone has their own opinion about whether a retake is necessary. One way to approach this question is to review the data utilized by medical school admissions committees, as well as several applicable studies. Soshould I retake the MCAT? Consider this study, which was a meta-analysis of 23 other studies. It examined MCAT scores and their correlation to medical school GPAs and USMLE Step 1 scores. The highest predictive validity (or correlation) was seen between MCAT results and USMLE Step 1 scores (though this correlation was small to medium). This is important to note, as the Step 1 exam partially determines what field(s) of medicine you will be competitive for. Therefore, admissions committees may place significant weight on MCAT scores. [RELATED: What is an Average MCAT Score?] Next, what do studies say about retaking the MCAT? This study concluded that the average of the earlier and later score on two MCAT attempts had the highest predictive validity. The second highest predictive validity was awarded to the earlier MCAT score. Another study had similar findings. When multiple scores were present, the average score was the best indicator of USMLE Step 1 scores. If you believe that you can significantly improve your MCAT results, and your target programs average scores or consider the highest result, it may be worth retaking the MCAT. The AAMC (or Association of American Medical Colleges) maintains a chart of retesting data for the 2008, 2009, and 2010 exam years. Though this chart relates to the prior version of the MCAT, it suggests how much of a score difference you may see on a retake based on how you fared the first time. Very large increases are primarily common with lower scores. If you fall into this category, you should consider retaking the MCAT. If your target medical school takes the average of your MCAT scores, remember that an incremental improvement may not make much difference. By this point, you may be leery of taking the MCAT at all. That is not the intention. The MCAT is an important aspect of medical school admissions, but it is not the only factor in your application. With the appropriate deliberation and preparation, including taking MCAT practice tests or working with MCAT tutors, you can make the most of your MCAT test date (whether its your first or second!).
